Beyond the cricket pitch, Soroti Cricket Academy is deeply committed to uplifting communities through social and economic empowerment initiatives that build resilience, support well-being, and enhance livelihoods, especially among young people and marginalised groups.
Social and Community Engagement
This program area focuses on creating safer, informed, and resilient communities through targeted outreach and education. Activities include gender-based violence (GBV) awareness and prevention, sexual and reproductive health (SRH) education and psychosocial counselling, and life skills mentorship. These efforts aim to build confidence, promote rights awareness, and strengthen the emotional and social well-being of girls, young women, and their communities.
Economic Empowerment and Livelihoods
This area equips out-of-school girls, boys, and young women with practical tools to become economically self-reliant. Through vocational skills training, entrepreneurship coaching, and financial literacy education and inclusion, participants gain knowledge and confidence to start small businesses or pursue meaningful employment. The program fosters long-term economic independence and reduces vulnerability to exploitation and poverty.
Education Support and Advancement
We promote equitable access to quality education for vulnerable girls, boys and young women. Support includes scholarships, school fees and tuition support, provision of scholastic materials, and career guidance. This program ensures that learners not only stay in school but also make informed decisions about their educational and career pathways, ultimately unlocking their full potential.
Holistic Mentorship and Life Preparedness
Beyond academics and vocational skills, this area provides ongoing mentorship and personal development support. Through structured life skills training, girls, boys, and young women build competencies in leadership, communication, decision-making, and goal-setting. The program encourages positive peer relationships and nurtures a generation of empowered young women and men who are confident, purpose-driven, and community-minded.
