Cricket Development Program
Our Cricket Development program aims to nurture talent, promote sportsmanship, and build a strong foundation for cricket among young people. The core focus areas include:
Coaching Programs
We run structured cricket coaching programs in and out of schools (primary and secondary) to introduce, develop and promote the game in schools. Through regular sessions led by our coaches, we focus on basic cricket skills development, including batting, bowling and fielding. We also address other aspects such as teamwork, discipline, and a love for the sport.
Tournaments and Competitions
To sharpen competitive skills and foster team spirit, we organise local cricket tournaments for various age groups and participate in national school and club tournaments and competitions. These competitions offer players the opportunity to apply their skills in a competitive setting and gain valuable match experience.
Holiday Cricket Camps and High-Performance Sessions
During school holidays, we host intensive cricket camps that offer technical training, fitness development, and specialised high-performance sessions for emerging talents. These camps are designed to enhance players’ technical abilities, tactical understanding, and mental toughness
Cricket Clubs
We run cricket clubs for both girls and boys that participate in the Uganda national cricket league. These clubs serve as continuous platforms for players to practice, compete, and progress through organised leagues.
EXPOSURE CRICKET TOURS
Soroti Cricket Academy runs the Exposure Cricket Tours Program, which involves organising and hosting cricket tours aimed at giving young players real-world experience beyond their regular training and playing environment. Through this program, SCA players and coaches travel to other regions and countries to participate in friendly and domestic league matches, attend high-level training sessions, visit elite cricket facilities, and learn from different playing styles and coaching techniques. At the same time, the academy also hosts visiting teams and players from outside Uganda, offering them opportunities to play in the domestic league and SCA-organised friendly matches
