
Soroti, October 19, 2025 The SCA 50 Overs Ladies League witnessed a day of mixed fortunes for Soroti Cricket Academy teams, as Nakatunya Cricket Club claimed their first win of the season in convincing style, while Senior Quarters Cricket Club suffered a narrow defeat in a low scoring encounter.
Nakatunya CC Secure First League Win
At the Soroti Cricket Academy Oval, Nakatunya CC registered their maiden league victory with a confident five wicket win over Pamba CC.
Batting first, Pamba CC managed 88 runs in 24 overs before being bowled out. The Nakatunya bowlers displayed impressive discipline, led by Agudo K with figures of 4 wickets for 18 runs in 5 overs. She was well supported by Icumarr J (3/14 in 6 overs) and Iroo J (2/15 in 6 overs), who combined to dismantle Pamba’s middle and lower order.
For Pamba, Agwang L (28 off 26) provided the only notable resistance at the top, while Alayo J (10 off 28) and Nabuduwa M (7 off 36) added minor contributions.
In reply, Nakatunya CC chased down the target in just 17.2 overs, reaching 89/5. Opener Kulume P anchored the innings with a dominant 56 off 48 balls, guiding her side to a well-earned first victory of the campaign.
For Pamba, Nabuduwa M (2/26) and Alayo J (1/11) bowled with determination but couldn’t prevent defeat.

Senior Quarters CC Fall in Two-Wicket Thriller
Over at another venue, Senior Quarters CC endured a tough loss against Campswahili CC, falling short by just two wickets in a tense finish.
Batting first, Senior Quarters were dismissed for 74 runs in 25.5 overs. Ariokot M top-scored with 29 off 35 balls, while Ilongu R (7 off 14) and Ariko H (6 off 22) tried to stabilize the innings. However, Campswahili’s bowlers proved too strong, with Bogere S (3/16), Aleto M (3/24), and Ayumel C (2/2) sharing wickets in an impressive team effort.
Campswahili’s chase was not without drama. Despite losing wickets regularly, Ilora J (23 off 20) and Bogere S (14 off 45) guided their team to 75/8 in 25.3 overs, sealing a hard fought two-wicket win.
For Senior Quarters, Anayo C (3/8), Ariokot M (3/26), and Alio R (1/30) kept the game alive with disciplined spells but narrowly missed out on a comeback victory.
